The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), in conjunction with the planning team for the Tennessee Sustainability Conference (TNSC), invite you to join us at the beautiful Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg for an opportunity of learning and networking while enjoying the natural seasonal beauty of the mountainous region.


Tennessee Mayors will gather for the 4th annual Mayor’s Retreat to gain resources, share in conversation, and collaborate for solutions. TDEC will provide information and updates on various programs including one of the most exciting new funding opportunities for communities, the Brownfields Redevelopment Area Grant (BRAG). The Mayor’s Retreat is complimentary for current Tennessee mayors and will be offered in-person or through a virtual portal on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

9:30am-12:00am Join TDEC Commissioner David Salyers and Deputy Commissioner Greg Young to learn more about topics of interest including the TDEC Brownfield Redevelopment Area Grant (BRAG) program, ARP updates, Recycling, etc.


12:00pm-1:20pm Lunch buffet with conference exhibitors


1:30pm-3:20pm Afternoon conference sessions


7:00pm-10:00pm Reception & Dinner networking event

We are thrilled to announce that the TN Recycling Coalition, in partnership with Tennessee Women in Green, Wilmot Inc., The Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation, Keep Tennessee Beautiful, Nobody Trashes Tennessee, along with other organizations, will be hosting the first-ever Women's Environmental Leadership Summit.

 

 The summit is designed to unite with leaders in sustainability, exchange transformative ideas, and cultivate your abilities as a leader. During the two-day event, participants will have the opportunity to listen to inspiring speakers, engage in environmental panel discussions, attend networking events, and take a tour. Please save the date for this inspiring event, which will take place at the prestigious Sonesta Hotel in

 Nashville, TN!

The Tennessee Sustainability Conference is partnering with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to host six training workshops on Tuesday, August 20th and Wednesday, August 21st. The workshops include Air Permitting, Haz-Waste, Storm Water, Environmental Grants, Pollution Prevention Workshop, and LOCT Landfill training. The SWANA Managing Recycling Systems class will be a three-day training class starting on Monday, August 19th.
